Danny Joe Geer, Sr.

Danny Joe Geer, Sr., 70, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Danny was born January 3, 1956, in McKinney, Texas to Joe Geer and Wanda Dodson Geer. He married Sylvia Ann Perry on September 12, 1983, in Stinnett. Danny enjoyed watching old westerns and doing woodworking. He was an avid fisherman and liked to make his own lures. In his younger years, he was a devoted member of the EOC. Danny loved to cook and grill and to do just that for family gatherings. His greatest joy was being called Papa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Geer and Wanda Geer Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Fritch; sons, Danny Geer, Jr. of Texas, Brandon Geer of West Virginia, Michael Perry of Fritch; daughter, Christy Reasor and husband Brandon of Willis; five grandchildren including, Alexis Duby, Lillianna Reasor, Phillip Reasor; brothers, Shannon Mitchell and wife Jennifer of Missouri, Ronnie Geer of Borger, Jeff Geer of Seagoville, Steve Ballinger of Pottsboro; sisters, Debbie Jones and husband Frankie of Pottsboro, Laurie Abeln and husband Manuel of Borger, Sherry Wages and husband David of Spring; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.

He’s not gone fishing, he’s gone catching.
