Cody Lee Brooks, 37, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in the Minton Memorial Chapel under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Cody was born September 21, 1987, in Borger to Tony Wayne Brooks and Shirley “Shirl” Howell Brooks. He loved life and lived it BIG. Cody was an oil field loving man, a true roughneck through and through. He was a talented tattoo artist and was extremely proud of his own ink. Cody enjoyed fishing, cooking out with family, working on vehicles and was able to bring life to plants with his green thumb. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his kids who he loved fiercely.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley “Shirl” Penner; father, Tony Brooks; grandparents, Doris and LJ Howell, Harold Wayne Brooks, and Viola Frances Brooks.

Survivors include his sons, Tyler Wayne Brooks, Ronnie Lee Brooks; daughters, Justyce Lynn-Maree Brooks, Karma Smith; brother, Dalton Lockyer; uncle, Bryan Brooks and wife Debbie, Travis Howell and wife Kathy, Lonnie Howell; aunts, Kimberlee McMahan, Barbara Price and husband Monty, Dianna Howell; cousins, Shadrick Jackson and wife Amy, Tanner McEntire, Regina Hayes, Cynthia Venzor, Mindy Browder, Johnny Howell, Monica Sepulveda, Beverly Morgan, and James Garza; and a host of extended family and friends.
