Clesta Ann Mayo

Clesta Ann Mayo, 91, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Stinnett Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to Stinnett Methodist Church.

Clesta was born November 1, 1934, in Delaware, Oklahoma to Floyd Richardson and Opal Boley Richardson. She married James Milton Mayo, Jr., on December 24, 1953, in Delaware, Oklahoma. Clesta worked as a receptionist and dispatcher for J.M. Huber. She was a member of Stinnett Methodist Church. Clesta served her community not only in her church but also driving for Meals on Wheels

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Opal Richardson; husband, James Mayo; brothers, Dean Richardson, Joe Richardson; sister, Corliss Richardson; and son, Rodney Mayo.

Survivors include her daughter, Teri McLoud and husband John of Stinnett; son, Monty Mayo and wife Jan of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Benjamin Mayo, Whitney McLoud and James Abel, Jessica Groot and husband Sam; great grandchildren, Madi, Marley, Logan, Lily; and a host of extended family.

The family would like to extend a big thank you to Hansford Manor and Hansford Hospice for all of the love and care they showed Clesta.
