Chester "Chet" Ramsey

Chester "Chet" Ramsey, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 14, 2026.

Chet’s memorial service will be held at 1000 South Main Street,  Stinnett, Texas on Saturday, July 18th. Everyone meet up at 1:30 pm at Huber Park in Borger. Motorcycles first then cars to follow ending at the memorial spot.  Cremation is entrusted to Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. 

He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to Billy Ramsey and Susan Kay Hooks Ramsey. Chet married the love of his life, Julie, on June 16, 2001, in Borger. He was ofter referred to as a "Big Teddy Bear" who loved family and friends more than anything. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast that would give you a nickname as soon as he met you and his love language was teasing you to show affection. Chet believed in giving back to his community, he gave selflessly since the age of 18 by serving on the Fritch Volunteer Fire Department, Stinnett Volunteer Fire Department and Phillips Fire. He worked at Phillips as a lead off. 

Nothing brought more joy his life than his family, especially being called Papaw.

He is preceded in death by his father; brother, Billy Ramsey; sister, Christine Gabriel; niece, Emily Purcell; and grandbaby, Aiden Davis.

Chet is survived by his bride of 25 years, Julie Smith Ramsey of Borger; his mother, Susan Kay Ramsey of Borger; his sons, Chester Ramsey, Jr. and wife Jordan of Borger, Ryan Davis and wife Bethanie of Borger; his daughters, Lacy Gayton of Fritch, Amanda Davis and husband Joe of Fritch, Chelsea Ramsey husband Johnathen of Sweeny; his sister, Lynna Owsley and partner Jeremiah Stiedl of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Melissa Purcell and husband Kenny of Borger; and his sixteen grandchildren.
