Cherry Marie Sparks, born on June 24, 1961, in Belvidere, Illinois, departed this life on June 22, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. She leaves behind a lasting legacy marked by her profound love for her family and a remarkable talent for the arts.
Cherry was united in marriage to Jeffrey Sparks on February 17, 1979, in Dunn, Louisiana. Together, they nurtured a family that includes their children: Matthew Sparks, Lucas Sparks, and his wife Brittany, Christopher Sparks, Juanita Stamps and her husband Anthony, Stephanie Hernandez and her husband Raul, and Justine Weaver and her husband Jeffrey. She was a loving grandmother to twenty-three grandchildren.
A woman of many passions, Cherry enjoyed sewing and was a gifted painter. Her love for cooking was matched only by her enthusiasm for trying out new recipes. She had a special knack for baking, renowned for making the best cobbler that was always a favorite among her family and friends.
Cherry is survived by her siblings, including brothers Johnny Sauseda and Manuel Sauseda, and sisters Mary Jean McKinney, Juanita McKinney, Florence Ferbon, and Rosie Taylor, along with sister Susie Toney. Her family will forever remember the warmth and joy she brought into their lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, brother Bobby Jim, and three beloved grandchildren: Alexander, Selena, and Lucas Jr.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Cornerstone Church at 1084 Coronado Circle in Borger followed by burial at Stinnett Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
