Charles “Charlie” Lee Kerr, 70, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at St. Andrew Methodist Church in Borger, with Mr. Arlin Audrain officiating. In lieu of flowers please honor his memory with a gift to the Small Fry Fishing Tournament Association, PO Box 2354, Fritch, Texas, 79036.

Charlie was born May 21, 1953, in Borger to Jesse Pearl Kerr and Delores Inez Vann Kerr.  He married Karen Rudisell on December 25, 1972, in Borger.  He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, he also held a self-proclaimed degree, Masters of Everything. Charlie retired as a superintendent from the Sid Richardson Carbon Black.

He was a large man with an even larger heart, that loved helping people.  Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family, he was truly invested in them.   Once he retired, he didn’t miss any of his grandkid’s activities. Many people all over the Panhandle were recipients of his famous bread and soap.  He served on the board of the Small Fry Fishing Tournament Association, Hutchinson County Historical Commission, and the Friends of the Museum.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Jesse and Delores Kerr.
