Carol Evelyn Collett

Carol Evelyn Collett, 79, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, September 28, 2026, in the Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger. Mrs. Collett will lie in state beginning Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors in Fritch. In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to American Parkinson Disease Association.

Carol was born December 26, 1946, in Herrin, Illinois to Fred Murray and Nora Forrest Newlon Murray. She married Lee Roy Collett on September 25, 1965, in Monroe, Michigan. Carol worked for over twenty years as a custodian for Phillips. She was a very creative person and loved doing various crafts and gifting them with all the love she poured into each creation. Carol was an avid reader, liked to watch her soap operas, loved to sing and an extremely gifted baker, she made all her grandkids’ birthday cakes. She liked to spend her free time scrolling on Facebook.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nora Murray; husband, Lee Roy Collett; infant son Collett; son, Donald Collett; brothers, Bob, James, Gary; and sister, Nita.

Survivors include her daughters, Shari Baker of Fritch, Debora Lovato of Borger, Jamie Sawvel of Borger, Addison Collett of Fritch; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Paul Murray and wife Penny, Norman Murray and wife Maria, Gordon Murray and wife Linda; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
