Carol Back

Carol Lynn Burkhalter Back, 74, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023.

Graveside services will be held 3 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Carol was born August 5, 1948, in Sayre, Oklahoma to Douglas Burkhalter and Blanche McCraw.  She retired as a lab tech from Phillips after 32 years of service.  A heart bigger than Texas, she was always putting others before herself.  After retirement she became a receptionist at Minton Chatwell where she was able to share her warm smile with many families over the years.

She is preceded in death by her father, Douglas Burkhalter; and mother, Blanche Gipson and husband Truitt (Buster).

Survivors include her husband, Billy Back of Early, Texas; daughter, Dena Epps of Borger; son, Roy Epps of Borger; grandchildren, Austin Preas and wife Jade; great grandchild, Ethan; sister, Sandra Hilton and husband Larry of Borger; brothers, Phil Burkhalter and wife Debbie of Borger, Paul Burkhalter and wife Miranda of Borger, Truitt Gipson and wife Sharon of Kennesaw, Georgia, Kenneth Gipson and wife Bernice of Fritch, James Gipson and wife Julie of Borger; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
