Bretta Suzanne Butler

Bretta Suzanne Butler was born in Childress, Texas, on July 20th, 1950. Her name she always found amusing because it came from an obituary her mother read. Bretta was called home to the Lord on December 31st, 2023.

Bretta was a 1968 graduate of Dumas High School. She graduated in 2000 from UT Arlington with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

The greatest joys of Bretta’s life were her children, Brent and Heather and her great-niece, Berkley. Her various Yorkies also brought her much happiness.

She is survived by her children, Frederick Brent Casados and Heather Suzanne Casados. Other survivors include her brother Bill Butler and wife Sandy, their children Eric Butler and his children Blake and Ava, and Bill and Sandy’s daughter, Whitney Holt and husband Wayne; her brother Greg Butler and wife, Debbie, their children Brad Butler and wife Jamie, and Lindsey Murphy and husband James and their son, Brayden Murphy and wife, Alison, and their daughter, Eleanor. Her adored Berkley is the daughter of James and Lindsey. That is many family members who loved her dearly, not to mention her numerous friends. She will leave an empty place in a great number of hearts.

Bretta was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Irma Butler, and her beloved daughter, Carmen. She is now reunited with them.

Please remember that this is a celebration of Bretta’s life. Of course, we are all sad to lose her, but be assured that she now has an address in paradise.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in the Minton Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors in Borger.  There will also be a Celebration of her life will be held in Ft. Worth at a later date.

Condolences may be sent to Brent and Heather Casados at 1405 Avenue T, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to Bretta’s favorite charities: Boy’s Ranch, the Humane Society, or Cook’s Children’s Hospital.
