Billy Dewitt Ramsey

Billy Dewitt Ramsey, 87 of Borger, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in Amarillo. Celebration of life will be 2:00pm Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Minton Memorial Chapel.

Billy was born on December 5,1937 in Henryetta, OK to Chester Andrew and Mable (Cook) Ramsey. He served his country in the US Navy for four years and retiring with the the US Airforce. On January 8, 1971, he married Susan Kay Hooks at the Hutchinson County Court House. He worked for the City of Borger and Dalhart in the water treatment plants. He was a big Dallas Cowboy fan, loved going to Walmart and visiting with people. Never met a stranger. He also loved going to the Salvation Army and especially his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents, son Billy Jr, daughter Christine Gabriel, and a granddaughter Emily Purcell.

Surviving is his wife, Susan. Son Chester Andrew Ramsey and wife Julie of Borger. Daughters Lynna Owsley and her companion Jeremiah Steidl of Carlsbad, NM; Mellissa Purcell and husband Kenny of Borger. Brothers Tommy Stephens of Hartshorne, OK and Jimmy Stephens of Hartshorne, OK. Sister Sylvia Penner of Hartshorne, OK. Fourteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
