Billie Matha Nichols, 98, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in the Minton Memorial Chapel with Mr. Jake Minton officiating.

Billie was born August 1, 1927, in Breckenridge, Texas to Herman “Hooks” Samuel Shelton Lemmons and Beulah Owen Lemmons. She married Floyd “Rusty” Russell Nichols in Albany, Texas in 1945. They were talented singers and sang every Saturday night for the television program The Panhandle Barn Dance for channel 4, they were known as Rusty and Sweet William. She was a gifted golfer and was the Hutchinson County Champion for the Panhandle Ladies Golf Association. Billie also enjoyed sewing. Nothing brought more joy to her life than her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hooks and Beulah Lemmons; husband, Rusty Nichols; sister, Sammye Hawkins; granddaughter, Nikki West Roberson; and great grandson, Rhett Roberson.

Survivors include her children, Kelly Nichols and wife Donna of Borger, Sherry Hans and husband David, Kathy Chapman; grandchildren, Robin Wood and husband Mark, Jenny Hess, Rachelle Chapman, Nicholas Chapman and wife Amanda; four great grandchildren; and a host of extended family.
