Betty Sharp

Betty Louise Sharp, 89, of Borger passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, in Borger. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Betty was born January 23, 1933, in Abilene, Texas to P. D. and Mary Pearl (Halford) Dawkins. She married James Sharp August 3, 1950, in Stinnett. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and was a caregiver. She loved gardening and traveling going to the cabin on Lake Texoma.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband James Marshall Sharp; siblings, Colleen Rusco, Jean Vick and Bob Dawkins; and a niece, Cathy Louise Dawkins, Ms. Sharps’ namesake.

Surviving is her son, James “Jamie” Sharp of Clovis, New Mexico; her daughter, Becky Newman and husband Jim of Borger; sister, Molly Pace (Robert) of Arcadia, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tami Newman Boyer (Kiff), Bubba Newman (Currie); great grandchildren, Gage Newman (K’Lyn), Logan Newman (Samuel); great-great grandchildren, Cedar and Raycen Newman; numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; and a host of extended family. p>
