Betty Nail

Betty Dale Nail passed away, Friday, May 6,2022 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Fritch Church of Christ. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell funeral Directors of Fritch. There will be a family and friends visitation on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the funeral home in Fritch from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Betty was born October 4, 1947, in Clarendon, Texas to Joe Bailey and Hilda (Eitner) Mathews. She married Weldon Nail April 10, 1971, in Memphis, Texas.  Betty was a cafeteria worker and custodian of the Sanford Fritch Independent School District. She loved her family, grandkids, antiques, and shopping.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; sisters, Alice Mathews, Anna Lou Haire; and brother, Jack Mathews.

Surviving is her son, Clayton Nail and wife Christi of Amarillo; daughter, Hilda Williams and husband Shad of Fritch; grandchildren, Kailey Williams, Koby Williams, Mallee Whitmire, Hunter Whitmire and wife Cheridyn; great grandson, Beckett Whitmire and one on the way; sisters, Gladys Kennedy of Edmond, Oklahoma, Juanita Norton and husband Ray of Larned, Kansas, Billie Balzar of Fritch, Mary Dugger of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
