Barbara Lou Thompson

Barbara Lou Thompson, 85, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Burwash officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to Calvary Baptist Church, 602 N McGee, Borger, Texas 79007.

Barbara was born January 14, 1938, in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Hugh Haugh and Jennie Morris Haugh.  She graduated from Phillips High School in 1956.  Barbara married the love of her life, Larry Thompson, on July 18, 1958, in Phillips. She worked from the Phillps School in the cafeteria, then went to work for Fairlanes Baptist Church as the secretary for over 20 years.  Barbara enjoyed oil painting, tole painting, sewing, and reading Christian novels.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Jennie Haugh; brother, Billy Joe Haugh; and sisters, Marilyn Buckley and Melba Snodgrass.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Larry of Borger; daughters, Deanna Owens and husband Danny of Amarillo, Donna Roark and husband Denny of Pampa; seven grandchildren including Justin Roark and wife Katie, Jason Roark and wife Kelleen; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; sister, Sylvia June Henson of Fritch; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
