Bailey Chisum

October 18, 2002 — October 1, 2021

Borger

Many prayers were answered when Bailey Noel Chisum entered this world on October 18, 2002.  She flew up to heaven and into the arms of Jesus on the afternoon of October 1, 2021.

Bailey (Boo) was born in Amarillo, Texas to Christopher and Kelley Chisum.  After a few years of spoiling precious little Bailey, their family was completed with the addition of her twin sisters, Natalie and Nicole.  Feisty, loyal, fun-loving, and protective – she relished her role as the proud big sister.  Bailey had an unbridled spirit and a joyous laugh.  She inherited her Daddy’s love for Halloween and holidays in general were celebrated with extended family.  We have our memories of egg hunts, BBQ’s, fireworks, spook houses, Thanksgiving dinner and football, Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, birthdays, games nights, video games, dance shows, and loads of laughter.

Bailey enjoyed playing softball and being part of a team and many a weekend found the five of them at a ballpark either for her and/or Natalie.  Bailey loved photos and surrounded herself with pictures of people that she loved.  She lived big and loved bigger.  She adored babies and had early on decided to follow in her Mom’s footsteps to work in the field of labor and delivery.  Both she and Nicole were blessed with beautiful voices.  With her warm and bright soprano voice, she went to state both her junior and senior years.

Bailey had just graduated with honors from Borger High School in June and had begun her nursing journey at West Texas A&M University.  She had a tender soul and a big soft spot for all her cousins, especially her cousin with Down syndrome, even hoping that God might someday bless her with one of her own.  She was baptized in June 2015, but had recently had a renewed thirst to draw closer to her Lord and Savior.  Bailey’s unexpected death has shattered many hearts and has left her family, friends, and community asking why.  God did not cause her accident and he did not need another angel.  But it was her time to go.  We must rest in that knowledge and trust that we will all see her again soon.

It’s really difficult to sum up her life in just a few short paragraphs because she was so much more.  To know her was to love her, and sweet Bailey – you were loved.

She is survived by her parents, Christopher and Kelley Chisum; her sisters, Natalie and Nicole; her maternal grandfather, (Papa) Donald Landrum; her aunts and uncles, Tammy and husband Fred Pfeiffer, Timothy Chisum, Christy and husband Kenneth Limbocker, Rusty and Veronica Landrum; cousins, Ekaterina (Rini), Alex, Ian, Breanna, Tristen, Bradden, Britanee, Cayton, Kyler, Kelsi, Derek, Megan, Micheal, Bethany, Lukas, Jayden, Alissya and Fayth, honorary aunt and uncle, Mike and Bobbi Chowins.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother (Mema) Pat Landrum; her paternal grandparents (PaPa and Nana) Cecil and Dee Chisum and her maternal great grandparents, Howard and LaMona Landrum.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Grace Church with Pastor Marshall Ford officiating.  Please dress however you want, whether that be in your Sunday best, jeans and a green shirt, or shorts because it’s stinkin’ hot. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  In lieu of flowers, Bailey would love for you to donate to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance @ocrahope.org in memory of her Mema and honor of her Aunt Tammy.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”  Revelation 21:4
