Arvilla Lynn Sumpter

Lynn Sumpter, 66, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026.

A celebration of her life will be held at 6 pm on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Liberty Church. 

Lynn was born September 17, 1959, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Burel Blakeney and Sadie Inez Blakeney. She married Thomas “Tom” Sumpter on February 14, 1993, in Borger. Lynn enjoyed crocheting, drawing, and playing cards, especially Skip Bo.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Burel Blakeney, Jr.; and an infant sister.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Sumpter of Borger; sons, Jesse Knott and wife Onnie of Fort Collins, Colorado, Billy Knott of Odessa, William Knott and wife Christian of Enterprise, Alabama, Jason Knott and wife Christina of El Paso; daughters, Karla Brittain and husband Scott of Borger, Lisa Moore of McEwen, Tennessee, Nicole Sumpter of Fritch, Natasha Shaw and husband Zeke of Amarillo; numerous grandchildren; brothers, Jesse Blakeney and wife Teresa of Andrews, Billy Sheridan and wife Alice of Arizona, Bobby Blakeney of Borger, Jerry Sheridan of Decatur; and a host of extended family.
