Alan Smith

Alan Newell Smith, 78, passed away March 12, 2024. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Minton Memorial Chapel with Mr. Terry Stegall officiating.  

Alan was born December 21, 1945 in Borger, Texas to Robert Newell Smith and Frances Guise Smith, He was a lifetime resident as well as a retired electrician from Huber Carbon Black plant.  Alan served his country in the US Army in the Vietnam War.  He was an avid golfer, loved baseball, enjoyed reading history books, and was most proud of his two granddaughters.  

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, LouElla Tindal and Roberta Wallace.

Surviving Alan is his son Scott Smith and his wife Angela, his daughter, Whitney Parrish and her husband Walt; brother, Roger Smith, sister, Joyce Scott; and his beloved granddaughters Sadie and Lucy.
