Jake Minton
Manager

Jake is a lifetime resident of Borger and Panhandle. He is a graduate of Borger High School and the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services; he also attended Frank Phillips College in the Business Administration Department. Jake is a charter member of Grace Fellowship church where he has served in various teaching capacities. He is involved in the local community as a member of the Borger Rotary Club where he will be serving as President for the 2010-2011 year. He sits on the Board of Directors for the Borger Chamber of Commerce, also serving as president in the past years. Jake is Vice President for the Borger Camp of Gideon’s International which works to distribute scriptures throughout the world. He has served as Chairman of the Hutchinson County Red Cross and was a member of the Optimist Club when it initiated the youth football program where he coached for 8 years.

Jake left the business for 6 years in 1994 to pursue ministry activities in America’s prison system believing when you change a person’s heart you will change his life. Jake also lived and worked at an orphanage for a year in Mexico helping to start Big Heart Orphanage which continues to change the lives of children today Jake has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for 36 years. He has served as a board member for the Texas Funeral Directors Association and is Past President of the Panhandle Funeral Directors Association. He is the son of the Founders of the business, A.M. and Cleo Minton.

Jake is married to Lea who is also active in the business. They have four children, Jenni Minton, Dennis J. Humble, Heather Hulsey and husband Larry, and Austin Minton. They also have five precious grandchildren, Jordan and Jaya Minton, Addison, Lawson and Hudson Hulsey.
Jerry Chatwell
Funeral Director - Consultant

Jerry graduated from Borger High in 1958 and the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. Jerry worked with and for AM Minton starting at the young age of 14 eventually becoming co-owner of the funeral home with Jake Minton. In his career he has served as President of Panhandle Funeral Directors Association and received an award for “Outstanding Funeral Director” 1983-1984. Jerry also recently received an award in Austin for 50 years of funeral service. Jerry is a member of the Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge (Unity Lodge), Lubbock Scottish Rite and the Khiva Shrine Temple. Jerry is also Manager and co-owner of Westlawn Memorial Park. Jerry is married to Linda; they have 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grand-daughter.
Montie Boyett

Montie is a lifetime resident of Borger, graduating from Borger High School in 1973. He graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1976.

He is a member of First Baptist Church. Montie is married to Natalie and they have 3 children, Joshua, Lydia, and Noah and three grand-daughters, Scarlett Paige, Abbie Gail, and Kenley Ryann.
Mark Phelps

Mark is a lifetime resident of Borger and has been serving as a funeral assistant with numerous duties for 11 years. Mark is very involved in the community and is a helper to anyone in need. Mark is a member of the Friends of the Library.
Lea Minton

Lea became a member of the Minton Chatwell family in 2001 when she and Jake married. Lea was born in Borger and raised in the nearby community of Fritch where she graduated in 1974. Lea has her Texas Insurance License and works to help others to plan their services in advance.

Lea is active in her Church, Grace Fellowship and many other Christian and Humanitarian causes. She considers her job—not just a job but her ministry as well.

Lea and Jake have 4 children. Jenni, Dennis, Heather, and Austin. They have 5 grandchildren; Jordan, Jaya, Addison, Lawson and Hudson.
James Gipson
Funeral Assistant

James is a lifetime resident of Borger. He graduated from Borger High in 1972 and graduated from Frank Phillips College in 1974. He and his wife Juilie, are active members of Riverview Baptist Church, where James is the Song Director. They have 2 children: Jason and his wife, Tifannie, and their daughter Jaryn. They also have 3 grandchildren: Harmon, Ginny, & Dash. James retired in 2009 after 35 years with Conoco Phillips. He has a compassion for people and is blessed by the opportunity to minister to them during a difficult time in their lives.

Marcy Lorenz Hopkins

Marcy is a native of Fritch. She graduated from Sanford-Fritch High School in 1998, Frank Phillips College in 2000 and Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2001. While at Dallas Institute, she was invited to be a member of the Pi Sigma Eta Fraternity. She is licensed as an embalmer, funeral director and a certified crematory operator. Marcy strives to make every bereaved family as comfortable as possible. She is dedicated to the needs and personalization of funeral services for each individual family she serves.
Marcy is married to Brandon and they have one son, Garrett.




Brenda Collins Fraley
Office Manager

Brenda has worked for the Minton Chatwell family since February 2012. She is a lifetime resident of Borger. She and her husband Kelly have three sons, Matt, Mark, and Kendall. They also have six grandchildren ranging in age from 3 months to 18 years old. Brenda enjoys her grandchildren, working out, reading, and assisting clients with their folders and books in remembrance of their loved ones. Brenda is also a board member of the Rainbow Room of Borger.
