Alice Little, 94, died Monday, March 1, 2010. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5th at Minton Memorial Chapel with Jake Minton officiating. Interment will be in "The Garden of Love" at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Alice was born in Buffalo, Texas November 29, 1915 to Thomas and Mattie Elizabeth Reedy. She was the third of six children. When she was six years old, her mother passed away and the children were sent to live with various relatives. Alice graduated from Pampa High School and excelled in sports. She helped her aunt manage a boarding house very close to the Pampa train depot where she met the love of her life, Horace Little. After two weeks of courtship, they were married and celebrated 54 years of marriage until his death in 1989.
Alice was known for a variety of special talents especially teacher/owner of her Little Petite Dance Studio in Borger for more than 30 years. She was an excellent seamstress, an artist of various styles, a pianist, and a charter member of the Borger Ceramic Club. She was also known for her award winning doll collection that she spent hours sewing new outfits and showing them at doll shows throughout the state.
Alice was a long-time member of the First Christian Church of Borger. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband in 1989 and her son, Joe Dean Little in 2008.
Her survivors include her daughter Phyllis Jackson and husband Ron of Amarillo, her beloved niece/best friend Doris Meek and husband Don of Borger, and daughter-in-law Eileen Little of Amarillo. Her eleven grandchildren are Lori Mayfield and husband Todd of Richland Hills, TX, Mark Jackson and wife Angie of Amarillo, Kristi Thomas and husband Steve of Amarillo, Felecia Serrioz and husband Teke of Wichita, KS, Patti Callen of Talkeetna, AK, Vicki Stewart and husband Jerry of Waxahachie, Jody Little of Anderson, SC, Scott Little of Decater, GA, Shannon Whipple and husband Paul of Beloit, KS, Curtis Little of San Diego, CA, and Eric Little and wife Mindi of Amarillo. She also has twenty-seven great-grandchildren and nineteen great-great grandchildren.
