I served in the Army.

Marvin “Mark” Raymond Walton, 92, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the Minton Memorial Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers, his memory may be honored with a gift to the Texas Panhandle Honor Flight, PO Box 3218, Amarillo, Texas, 79116.

Mark was born March 16, 1925 in Amarillo to Roger Raymond Walton and Minnie Lee Moore Walton. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and in the European Theater of Operations in Germany. He was extremely proud of his military service. Mark was thrilled to be honored as the Grand Marshall in the veteran’s parade in Brownsville and to attend the Honor Flight in 2015. Mark retired after 42 years of service as a production supervisor for the Borger News Herald.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the beach and his daily happy hour. Mark was always on the go and wanting to travel. An avid story teller, he liked to share his wisdom with the family he loved so dearly. He was so proud of his grandchildren’s accomplishments.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma Jean; great-grandson, Hayden Carlock; sister, Louise Chase-Younger; and brothers, Calvin Walton and Sonny
Walton.

He is survived by his son, Mark Walton and wife Shelly of Lubbock; daughters, Pamela Carlock and husband, Glynn of Borger, Kim Moxom of Borger; eight grandchildren, Bryan Carlock and wife Amy, Alicia Ward and husband Hurley, Jake Cameron and wife June, Shyla Magee and husband Chris, Josh Kay, Lance Bishop and wife Leslie, Chris Moxom, Taylor Moxom; and nine great grandchildren.
